Accepting God Changed My Life + It Can Change Yours Too

I can remember the day everything shifted. I was alone in my bedroom, weighed down by stress and an overwhelming sense of emptiness. Outwardly, my life looked fine—career moving forward, relationships intact—but something was missing.

I tried to control everything BUT it left me exhausted.
In a moment of surrender, I prayed a simple, honest prayer: God, show me. I can’t do this on my own. Give me eyes to see and ears to hear more from YOU.
What happened next wasn’t a dramatic bolt of lightning - even though I’ve had visions with them before - but that’s another story!! 🥹 It was a quiet peace I couldn’t explain. Over the next few days, I felt my perspective shifting. I wasn’t carrying the internal weight I carried before. There was a deeper purpose behind my struggles, and I began to trust that God was leading me somewhere greater than I could imagine or fathom.
Accepting God changed MY life in so many ways...
I stopped living in fear. Before, I was constantly anxious about the future, my decisions, and whether I was “good enough.” But through faith, I realized that I didn’t have to have all the answers. God had a plan, and my job was to trust and walk in it. The peace that came with that trust was life-changing.
I shifted my priorities. Success used to mean personal achievements, financial gains, and recognition. But as I grew in faith, I realized that true fulfillment comes from living for something bigger than myself. Relationships, serving others, and aligning my life with God’s calling became my focus.
I discovered my strength by surrendering. Letting go of control was difficult, but once I did, I experienced freedom. I learned that surrendering to God doesn’t mean giving up; it means allowing Him to work in ways I never could on my own. Doors opened, opportunities came, and I found strength I never knew I had.
YOU can experience a changed life too.
If you’re feeling lost, overwhelmed, or like something is missing, I encourage you to take these steps:

Be Honest with God: You don’t need fancy prayers or perfect words. Just talk to Him. The way I talk to God is so freeing. Share your struggles, fears, and desires. Ask Him to reveal Himself to you.
Start Reading the Bible: God speaks thru His Word. Even if you don’t know where to start, try reading Psalms or John to begin understanding His love for you. Need a guide? Use the Bible app to find a plan that resonates with your current situation. Spend time with Him + change will come.
Surround Yourself with Faithful People: Find a bible-teaching church, small group, or mentor who can encourage and guide you on your journey.
Let Go and Trust: It’s not about perfection but about faith. Trust that God has a plan, even when things don’t make sense right away. He has a plan for you to prosper and WIN. Align with him to learn more of what he desires for you!
As I’m living in MY TRUTH, I’ve realized that accepting God didn’t mean my life became perfect, but it did become purposeful.
The peace, clarity, and strength I now have are things I could never have achieved on my own. And the best part? That same transformation is available to you.
If you’re ready for a change, take that first step today. God is waiting with open arms.

Loved this. Very similar story. God will allow you to become exhausted and done with your self-sufficient mindset to draw you to notice Him. Love that about Him. Unfortunately, most of us get to that point with hard lessons.
